Hi everyone! Today we will make a trip to introspection, we live in a fast-paced world, along with a frenetic rhythm of obligations that requires us to constantly look outside, that is why today we will travel for a few minutes towards our inner being, to connect with ourselves on a journey accompanied by Lamentations of the composer Virko Baley.

The work "Treny-Laments ll" for solo bassoon by the composer Virko Baley is a  piece with simplicity and beauty in its captivating melody, the delicacy of its phrases are perfectly connected to each other with absolute purity of sound in absolute harmony, the work little by little connects us with the deep feeling of nostalgia and reflection.

Like all great works of art, it begins with a blank canvas, and with the first brushstroke the magic begins, in this case, the work starts with a delicate note that develops in a single melodic direction, with a character of lament without great changes of dynamics or contrasts in the sentences.

Slowly the euphoria fades, and with great masterly, the beautiful lament returns in a perfect delicate performance and with a totally pure sound; this time the melody is centered in the middle and high register, thus reaching the last brushstrokes of the work.

In conclusion to "Treny - Laments ll" we can say that is a work with great musical demand, and an absolute beauty from beginning to end, the word Treny that is part of the title of the piece makes reference to a homage with deep pain, an elegy, and it's precisely the feeling that we can experience when listening to it.

The piece was written in 1996 and it's part of the album "Parables & Reflections" under the TNC record label, it was released in 2010; If you are interested in acquiring the score, you can contact the composer at the following link.
